Prg asked:

OK, I have created a website using iWeb’08 on Mac OS X 10.5.4 and tried to publish it, i have a mobile me account with free trial (60 days) account. I have created 1 personal domain as www.mydomain.com with mobileme. My personal domain is also registered with GoDaddy account. Now i know the next step was to park my domain (as per Godaddy) ,then next was the CNAME settings in godaddy with Alias: www.mydomain.com and points to hosts: web.me.com and TTL: 1 hour. These were the exact settings i have entered (no typo mistake)..
I then go on to publish the website with iweb as the option Publish All to MobileMe. It successfully publishes on to web.me.com/(myusername) but it doesn’t publish on to my desired domain name, even after 48 hours from the time I clicked publish!! the www.mydomain.com website just shows the courtesy website of Godaddy which is same as before 48 hours ago.

Please help me resolve this problem, Thank You

“We have completed restoring Mail service, including historical messages, to all of the 1% of affected members. Thank you all for your extreme patience during this trying time.”

Hopefully this is the last of the major problems that MobileMe users face, and things will stabilize. People used to complain about .Mac’s reliability, but MobileMe has definitely set a new (low) standard. This is a shame, because when MobileMe is working as it should, it is brilliant. I guess we’ll all have to see how things go. I’m hoping for David G’s sake that things go more smoothly…

As I’ve already written about previously, Apple’s MobileMe transition has been anything but smooth.

As for me personally, everything has been going well since the beginning of this week - I’m still a little bummed about the 15 minutes it takes before changes on my Mac are actually synced opposed to what we were initially led to believe, but other than that I’m happy.

The same can’t be said for everyone though - there are people (1% of MobileMe users) who haven’t gotten any or all of their email since July 18th. Apple seems to think that they have this problem fixed now, and has posted a message tonight about the status:

“As you know, restoring full email access to the remaining 1% of MobileMe users is our first priority. We turned on web access to their current email yesterday and the feedback has been cautiously positive. Since then, we’ve restored full email history (minus the approximately 10% of mail received between July 18 and July 22 which may have been lost) and the ability to access email from a Mac, PC and iPhone, to over 40% of these users, and expect the remainder to be restored in the next few days.

A note of clarification to these 1% of MobileMe users – all of the email you received between July 18 and July 22 was placed on our new server on July 23 and was stamped with that date as a result. If you need the actual date for particular messages you can take advantage of the ability to view long headers in MobileMe Mail (via Preferences) to peer into the log and find the actual mailing time and date.

We’ll report again on our progress in another post early this week.

David G.”

Hopefully Apple can get this whole mess sorted once and for all shortly.
