Copyright (c) 2009 Wes Fernley

Pharmacies are often a target for theft. This is because they have a wide variety of different products and medications, many of which are for prescription-only. Pharmacies require constant video surveillance to keep track of those easy-to-snatch items and expensive prescription medication. IP network cameras are a great way to keep video surveillance on pharmacies because they offer both real-time surveillance, digital recording capabilities and much more.

The Benefits to IP Cameras

- One of the reasons that IP cameras are best for pharmacies is because they provide live video stream over the internet from anywhere in the world. What this means is that police, medics and security guards can watch what is happening in real-time without always having to be there. They can guard the pharmacy from remote computers which can save precious time, money and energy.

- Another great thing about IP cameras is that they can record video to remote PCs over the net as well. However, unlike the bulky analog form, IP cameras use digital technology which offers almost unlimited video recording power.

- IP cameras feature control pan/tilt and zoom features so you can direct the cameras to the best angle possible. You can ensure that you get the theft’s face.

- IP cameras can also be set up in both wireless and PoE (power over Ethernet) functions which mean lower installation costs and less wiring.

- Because of these benefits to IP cameras, customers and staff will be protected from criminal activity, hold ups and any other problems that may occur. IP cameras can also keep prices low as there will be less theft of medicines and drugs.

- IP cameras can also offer email and SMS updates if motion is detected by the camera.

- Furthermore, with constant video streaming, police will be able to immediately be able to make an arrest. IP cameras can also stop thefts from occurring, especially if a theft is aware of the IP cameras in place.

Considerations when it comes to IP Systems

- IP systems can be incredibly invasive on privacy, especially for your customers. Make sure you remain respectful by placing the IP cameras away from patient information and their medication history.

- When setting up an IP system, consider the size of your shop. Is it a small outlet or a larger store?

- Look at the current security that you have installed, if any. Use the IP cameras to complement the current video surveillance system.

- Target high risk areas such as back corners, the cash register and the pharmacy where many thefts may occur.

- It’s also important to look into all areas of the store including garbage stations and storage facilities. Often theft will occur behind closed doors in the inventory section where it may seem easier to get away with it.

- If your pharmacy offers a drive through service, make sure you target the IP cameras to hit the license plates of the vehicles for quick and easy arrests.

You could be getting more than you bargained for when you download a PDF or receive one as an email attachment. PDFs can run scripts upon opening them and could potentially compromise your system.

Adobe Systems Inc. confirmed the existence of two new vulnerabilities in their Adobe Acrobat Reader application. The news was announced May 4 by Trustwave and other security agencies which stated that Adobe expects to release patches by May 12, 2009. The vulnerabilities involve JavaScript functions that ‘getAnnots ()’ (CVE-2009-1492) and spell.customDictionaryOpen (CVE-2009-1493). According to Secunia.com the ‘getAnnots ()’ function is a JavaScript API in Acrobat Reader and Acrobat that allows remote assault to cause a denial of service through memory corruption or execute an arbitrary code via a PDF that contains that annotation. This is conducted through an OpenAction entry using JavaScript code that issues a series of crafted integer arguments or calls.

The customDictionaryOpen spell method is also a JavaScript API that affects Adobe Reader 8.x - 9.1 running primarily on Linux System. It allows remote hackers to deny services through a memory corruption and, similar to the ‘getAnnots’, may be executed through an arbitrary code via a PDF. Mac users don’t have to be too concerned about the customDictionaryOpen function as this is mainly something that will come up using Linux. The most troubling out of the two is the ‘getAnnots ()’.

These vulnerabilities cause a Macintosh-based Acrobat Reader versions 9.x - 8.x and Acrobat 9.x - 8.x to crash and have the potential to allow a hacker to attack and take control of a vulnerable system. Simply disabling JavaScript will not resolve anything; it only disables the vulnerable JavaScript component but does not reduce system compromise. The United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT) has recommended the following precautions for those that have or yet to encounter these PDFs.

Do not open unsolicited PDF files from distrusted or suspicious sources; switch your default PDF handler to Preview for the time being; and disable Adobe Reader JavaScript Preferences to prevent hackers from exploiting system vulnerabilities. To do this:

(1) Launch Adobe Acrobat Reader
(2) Select Edit from the Menu Bar
(3) Select Preferences
(4) Select the Internet Tab
(5) Uncheck the “Display PDF in Browser”

In addition, prevent your default browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari, etc.) from automatically opening PDF documents. The installer that loads Adobe Reader and Acrobat configures any one of your browsers to open a PDF file without any user interaction. To disable the browser from displaying of PDF documents:

(1) Launch Adobe Acrobat Reader
(2) From the main Menu select Edit
(3) Select Preferences, Click on the Internet tab
(4) Uncheck “Display PDF in browser” checkbox.

Avoiding opening PDF documents in a web browser reduces the possibility of attack. The following workaround applied to the updated version of Adobe Reader should protect against future vulnerabilities.

If you have a PC, additional preventative measures are listed at the US-CERT site that further reduce your chances of attack. Currently Adobe recognizes this as a critical issue and recommends that you follow the above listed steps and exercise common sense when opening PDF files. Please visit the Adobe Product Security Incident Response Team blog for further updates on this issue.

In January, 2009 MSI had launched the MSI X320, which looks an awful lot like a MacBook Air. It has a 13.4 inch, 1366 x 768 display

and its super thin and light, measuring less than an inch thick, and weighing about 2.9 pounds. But unlike the MacBook Air, the MSI

X320 runs on an Intel Atom Z520 CPU.

It features optional 3G / WiMAX module, 802.11b/g/n, three USB ports, an Ethernet port, VGA out, and a card reader. The presence of

connectivity options definitely makes it altogether enticing for those scouting a continually connected ultraportable.

The X320 (starting at $700) gets gifted with a less exciting 1.6GHz Atom Z530, which means two things: It would not exactly be a

speed demon but it will be a lot cheaper than the Air.

MSI X320 vs. the MacBook Air:

Graphic processor: MacBook Air sports Intel GMA X3100 graphics processor with 144MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory

whereas X320 has Intel GMA500 graphic processor.

Display: The X320 is a 13-inch laptop, meaning it houses a 13-inch widescreen. It uses the 16-by-9 form factor, as is common in

HDTVs, and its monitor is rated at 1,366×768 resolution; the Air, meanwhile, is designed in a 16-by-10 form factor with a 1,280×800

resolution. The LED screen is bright and pleasant to look at, not much different than the Air’s.

Weight: X320 weighs 2.9 pounds whereas Air is heavier with 3.0 pounds.

Thinner than a MacBook Air? It measures 1.98cm at its thickest point (the MacBook Air is a mere 1.94cm), slimming down to a skinny

6mm at its thinnest point (compared to 4mm for the MacBook Air).

Storage: X320’s hard drive is a 160-GB, 5,400 RPM expandable to 250 GB, whereas Air supports 80GB ATA 1.8” 4200-rpm HDD or

64GB SSD.
Processor: The X320 is powered by a 1.6 GHz, Intel Atom Z530 processor, which means it is using Intel’s Silverthorne platform

complete with the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 500 chipset. The Air sports a 1.6GHz or 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Merom.

Memory: Air has 2GB of 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM soldered to the logicboard, which is similar to the X320’s DDR2-667 up to 2GB

memory.

Wireless networking: Air has integrated AirPort Extreme supports 802.11a/b/g and draft-n, But X320 connects wirelessly using

802.11b/g/n.

Wired Ethernet: present in X320 but Air lacks it.

Battery life: MSI suggests that netbook can run for 10 hours whereas MacBook Air barely runs for 4.5 hours.

USB ports: three in X320 while Air has just one.

Camera: Air has Built-in iSight, 640×480 pixel resolution camera whereas X320 has 1.3 MP camera.

Dimensions: Air’s dimensions are 8.94 in D × 12.8 in W × 0.16–0.76 in H and X320 has 8.8 in D × 12.9 in W × 0.7 in H.

Keyboard: X320’s keyboard appears to be full sized, with standard proportions, instead of the non-adjoining keys that the Air uses, it

has Backlit full-size keyboard with ambient light sensor.

Bluetooth: X320 has Bluetooth V2.0 EDR, Air sports built-in 2.1 EDR.

Video Port: Air has one Micro-DVI video port (adapters are included for VGA or DVI monitors up to 1920 by 1200 pixels) whereas X320

also has D-SUB video port.

Card reader: X320 has 2 in 1 SD/MMC card reader, while Air lacks it.

Price: X320- started from $700 whereas Air costs $1799 for the present model which supports NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics

processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory.

Color Available: The MSI X-Slim X320 will be available later this year. The X320 will come in three different colors “champagne gold”,

“pearl white” or “stylish black” models. But Air is available only in silver grey which consist of highly recyclable aluminum.

Bottomline

MacBook Air runs Intel Core 2 Duo thus coming as a performing machine whereas MSI X320 running on Atom can be taken as

netbook. Besides, this wireless connectivity options are coming with more latest options available like /n.

If processors are left unconsidered, MSI has many pluses on MacBook air. MSI supports better battery life of around 10 hours (related

sources say so), has a better web cam supporting 1.3MP against 640×480 pixel resolution iSight that Air supports. It is lighter than Air

and is just thicker than Air in terms of fraction of cm.

MSI has three USB ports where as Air has just one port. Against, NVIDIA GeForce9400M, MSI supports Intel GMA 500 graphics

processor but is also speculated that the X320 might also be equipped with NVIDIA’s Ion platform, which would slave in the GPU to

enhance multimedia processing power.

If keyboard typing comfort is accounted, typing is no problem with MSI X320. Also, MSI supports 160 GB hard drive which is

expandable to 250 GB whereas Air only offers 80 GB hard drive.

The very basic offering by MSI is replaceable battery against the Air’s non removable battery.

The bottom line of all this discussion is you are paying half of the money as for MacBook Air. Air costs you $1,600 price and the

cheaper Intel Atom platform clone, the MSI X320 can potentially dip below $800. It’s the closest anyone has come to ripping off Apple,

which by itself deserves a lot of credit.

New features
History
Transition to Intel processors
Architecture
Technologies
List of applications
Components
The Apple Intel transition was the process of changing the CPU of Macintosh computers from PowerPC processors to Intel x86 processors. The transition became public knowledge at the 2005 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), when Apple Computer CEO Steve Jobs made the announcement that the company would make a transition from the use of PowerPC microprocessors supplied by Freescale (formerly Motorola) and IBM in its Macintosh computers, to processors designed and manufactured by Intel, a chief supplier for most of Apple’s competitors.
Apple’s initial press release indicated the transition would begin by June 2006 and finish by the end of 2007, but it actually proceeded much more quickly. The first generation Intel-based Macintoshes were released in January 2006, and Steve Jobs announced the last models to switch in August 2006, with the Mac Pro available immediately and with the Intel Xserve available by October 2006. The Xserve servers were available in December 2006.

This took several years, during which Apple produced versions of the Mac OS that could run on either platform, introduced fairly low-level emulation of the 68K architecture by the PowerPC models, and encouraged third-party developers to release “fat binaries” that could run natively on either architecture.
More recently, Apple has transitioned the Macintosh from the earlier Mac OS to Mac OS X. This transition also took a number of years (a small percentage of older Macintoshes still run the earlier operating system), and was facilitated by the inclusion of Classic, an environment in which an instance of Mac OS 9 could be run, permitting the execution of programs that had not been ported to Mac OS X, as well as the introduction of Carbon for Mac OS 9 and Mac OS X, allowing programs to run natively on either system. A lot of internal project within Apple (rumored to be called “Marklar”), was designed to ensure that builds of Mac OS X remained largely as portable as its predecessor NeXTSTEP, so as to compile for both PowerPC and x86-class processors. Jobs confirmed this, stating that every version of OS X had in fact been compiled for Intel processors as well as PowerPC. It is not publicly known whether Apple maintains current builds for any…(and so on) To get More information , you can visit some products about light charcoal, table cloths plastic, .

The World Wide Web is a portal to almost anything and everything that we thought we couldn’t get our hands on. With LAN technology and instant access to every website online, those who are especially good with computers can even find the best sources of porn on the net without having to worry about viruses or sneaky malware getting into their system. So they download and download day and night without a care in the world, but as long as there are possibilities of unknown access, hacking, and other people accidentally opening your porn directory then there is a need to either Remove Porn from Mac completely or move it to a different location.

Learning how to Remove Porn from Mac or PC is quite easy but with different procedures, of course. For this article, we will be concentrating on how to Remove Porn from Mac since a lot of people who are into graphics, videos, and who want the best quality for their media would turn to Macbooks now. Here are some tips and ideas on how to completely remove or hide the porn from prying eyes:

? If you are sharing your computer with another person then it’s time to hide them in a different directory or location. You may think that the person won’t snoop around your files, but once you leave your place in front of your Mac there’s no telling what could happen. What you can do is to make multiple accounts or users for you, your companions, and even a secret user just to store your porn in.

? If you’ve created hidden accounts for your porn collection, enable Fast User Switching so that you can switch back and forth whenever you want to view your files.

? To be able to hide your porn even more from others, you can encrypt your files for two very good reasons: 1) Your files will be hidden from Spotlight searches and experienced hackers online, and 2) it will be able to encrypt the data itself so that those who use programs and techniques to retrieve encrypted files won’t be able to do so.

? If you want to completely Remove Porn from Mac, then you’re going to have to download trusted software that can completely remove traces of pornography from directories all over your hard drive. You have to make sure that the program is compatible with Mac OS X to be able to effectively trace the files and folders and delete them completely.

Of course, the best method on how to prevent people from viewing anything from your computer is to not download and save any of those files in the first place. If having a collection of porn isn’t that important, then there is no need to keep them in there as they take up a lot of space and memory in your Mac. If you’re still unsure on how to Remove Porn from Mac, there are tons of articles and websites that specifically cater to Mac users online.

Are you worried about how to remove porn from mac?

Apple is now advertising their Mac mini as one of the first truly green computers. But what does this really mean, and how green is Apple. . .really?

Don’t get Mac users started. There are a million reasons why a Mac is better than a PC, and if you’re a PC fan, you’re not going to win this debate. Much of the argument for Macs vs. PC centers on usability, reliability and sometimes, just subjective preference for a Mac. Die hard Mac users will never switch to a PC, but is there a new factor that just might convince PC user holdouts to make the switch?

Apple is now advertising their Mac mini as one of the first truly green computers. But what does this really mean? Is this just another way of advertising meant to tug on the consciences of those of us who have decided to green our lives? In this new wave of eco-technology, Apple is at the forefront (at least this is what they claim). How green is Apple?

The new Mac mini’s impact on the environment is touted to be as small as it is, and “the world’s most energy-efficient desktop computer.” It was designed with its entire lifecycle in mind in terms of energy efficiency, performance, material content, and recyclability.

Energy efficiency in a computer is easy to measure - there’s nothing subjective about that. We also know what materials can and can’t be recycled, so that’s clear as well. Same for materials used. Heavy metals: bad; safe materials: good. A computer that uses less energy is OF COURSE better for our planet, as are all the other energy efficient appliances we can now buy for household use.

One thing that CAN’T be measured as concretely is the impact of the manufacturing process used to produce these computers. Most computers are no longer manufactured in the United States, and Macs are no exception. Most are produced in China or other Asian countries, where production of most computer components is outsourced. Why? Simple: because it’s cheaper. And it’s cheaper in part because developing countries like China have less stringent environmental regulations and more lax labor standards - hence lower production costs.

The energy that goes into producing the energy efficient Mac mini could be produced with “dirty energy” from coal or other polluting electricity generating methods. Likewise, unless there’s careful oversight, components could be used that don’t meet all the green standards set by Apple production headquarters in the United States. Onsite monitoring is crucial. Finally, for a product to be truly green, the labor component of production must be considered. Are workers paid fair wages and do they work reasonable hours? What are their working conditions?

So the answer to the “Green Apple” question is not that simple. It’s yet to be seen how green the new minis really are, but one thing is clear. In the computer world, Apple is taking the lead and the greening of the new Mac mini is a good start.

The PC versus Mac debate is raging in my house. We have both available for use so hopefully the opinions presented by those around me are at least somewhat based on actual experiences. So why are their opinions so polarized?

I have an aging iMac desktop machine at home that works just fine for all the things that I need to do. Which includes the usual email and web browsing but also serves well for video editing and photo management. At work I use an Intel based PC that is just amazing for all the applications that I need to run there, usually 5 to 7 at any one time. I couldn’t ask for a more capable machine. It has lots of RAM and a nice big 21-inch LCD screen. I love it.

My teenaged son on the other hand wouldn’t touch a pc unless a gun was pointed to his head. He and his friends seem to think that the pc or anything Microsoft is something to be avoided like the plague. Although they do seem to go mute when I point out that the Xbox they are playing is a Microsoft product. Selective preferences seem to be okay for them when it suits their entertainment needs.

For me having capable computing power when and where I need it is much more important than the relative cool appeal of whatever type of machine I have available. I couldn’t give a rats behind whether or not the machine has any kind of sex appeal. As long as I can get it to do what I want ask of it. If I could make an old Commodore 64 do what I needed then that would be okay with me. I suppose I just don’t look at my computer as any sort of status symbol.

I look at computers as appliances, just a means to an end. I don’t expect my toaster to add anything to my social status beyond making toast when I put the bread in. And it’s no different when it comes to computers. They are there to do our bidding. Nothing more. If a Mac is better at running graphics software then that is the platform to use. And if a PC is better suited when it comes to business applications then that is great too. It’s just an appliance! If it does what you are asking then what more do you need? My car is an aging Toyota Camry (also an embarrassment to my son) that will easily exceed all posted speed limits so why would I need something faster? To me the car is just a necessary transportation appliance. Nothing more.

Why then do so many have such strong opinions on the PC vs Mac systems? Is it just marketing? Or maybe the wanting to belong to a community of like minded individuals. I don’t think you can ever underestimate the power of the herd mentality. If all your friends think that the Mac (or PC) is the only way to go then it becomes very hard to buck the flow and go your own way. You run the risk of having to justify your choice to your peers with the possibility of great ridicule. As if it really matters in the end what type of processor does the work for you.

What I have noticed however as a distinguishing point is the relative lifespan of the two platforms. As I mentioned I have an aging Mac at home that still works as well as the day I brought it home. My PC friends on the other hand seem to be in a constant need of an upgrade. Over time their pc’s just get slower and slower. This is despite all there efforts using firewalls and virus scanners. Things that are unnecessary with a Mac of course. At least for now while the Mac has only about a 5% market share that leaves little incentive to write those viruses for so few. Does that really make the PC an inferior platform for our needs?

Not at all. The PC is still the choice of most of the worlds users of the desktop computer. The huge array of software available for the PC is just one of the many reasons why it is king. There are a huge number of companies providing both hardware and software that use the Windows operating system. Resulting in a highly competitive marketplace that has because of this competition kept the prices at astonishingly low prices. You can now buy a good laptop complete with Windows and other companion software for under $500.00! And desktop computers can be had even cheaper. Just try to get a Mac for anything less than double that.

The cool appeal certainly is a huge factor. Macs have that in spades. Even with the higher price of entry they have a rabid fan base. Mac users are so dedicated to their machines almost to the point of obsession. They believe this strongly for reasons that could only be rooted in loyalty to Apple’s vision of a unique alternative to the Microsoft near monopoly. There will always be a segment of the population that feels the need to rebel against a successful corporation. I know people that refuse to drink a Starbucks coffee and not that they will likely admit it but I suspect it is just the fact they perceive the company to be just too corporate. Too successful. Microsoft is all of that. A large very successful corporation, therefore they must be hated.

It’s all good of course. It makes for a healthier marketplace to have some competition for the large dominant corporations. There is always room for more choices available to the consumer.

Apple notebooks have created a niche for themselves in the laptop industry. What makes Apple laptops different from others in the market? In short, it is Apple’s high-end features, cutting-edge technology, innovative ideas, and creative design. With these, they can meet all your computing needs while on the move. This makes these creatively-designed laptop computers, the first choice among laptop buyers worldwide.

You can find a wide range of Apple laptop computers that suit your requirements at Portable One, a systems integrator and reseller of mobile computing products. I bought an Apple MacBook Air from Portable One and am pleased with it.

This cute-looking notebook has a 13.3-inch display. Don’t go by the size and doubt its capabilities. These computers are made from a single-piece of aluminum that makes it lighter and thinner. You can easily carry it in your briefcase or backpack. The NVIDIA GeForce 9400M graphics processor is a big plus point to the laptop. To give the best quality other notebook PCs might drain your battery dry. But, the Apple MacBooks provide you better performance without draining the battery. You can watch your favorite videos or play 3D games even on the move.

If you are looking for a slightly bigger version, opt for the Apple MacBook Pro. Both 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pro laptops have ultra thin, high-resolution LED backlit displays for excellent picture quality. You will see the difference when you start using the new multi-touch trackpad in the Apple MacBooks. The trackpad that also works as a button helps you to click just anywhere you want to. All you have to do is press the trackpad. Read Apple’s online tutorial on MacBooks’ and learn all the interesting ways to use your trackpad efficiently with your fingers. It’s like magic, you will love it!

Make every moment count with any one of these powerful Apple laptops wherever you go!

Apple has made it clear that it?s just as much about fashion as it is about performance and the recent update to the iMac line confirms that point. DESIGN: The design of the new iMac is the same as previous models, nothing much to talk about on the outside. You still have your aluminum housing and your 24-inch LCD glass display along with the usual webcam support and microphone support. Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and such from the older iMac models are also included also. It also supports three USB drives in the back, two audio ports (headphones, microphone), FireWire 400 and 800 ports and of course the useless Apple proprietary video output. The system carries the same clot loading CD/DVD drive as on previous models which is a little disappointing. For a company who was on the Blu-Ray bandwagon from the onset you would expect that being two years into the hi-def world (and the format war over) Apple would think about sticking a BD drive in such a pricy machine. The only drawback of the new iMac (as is the case with most Mac products) is cramped space. With so many components in such a tight environment, over heating can be a problem especially in warmer environments. Also due to the design expansion is virtually impossible so it is good advice that when you are purchasing a new system make sure that you have all the specs you will need as upgrading the system means carrying it into an Apple center which will run you some $$$. SOFTWARE: This is your Mac, so the software of course will be OS X commonly called Leopard. The graphics are exactly what you would expect from Apple, a lot of detail is spent on visual and as usual the Mac shines in video editing and audio editing as well as photo and music. Thanks to some of the new features of the new Leopard OS features such as Spaces which allows you to group similar windows together and switch between and the new Time Machine application which backups your system at specified intervals it?s an improvement above the last OS. But probably the greatest improvement in the OS is the ability to switch between Mac and Windows with the new boot camp software. This allows you to run a full version of XP or Vista on your Mac just like on another computer or run Windows in the Leopard environment like a window. This of course is Apple?s attempt to capture more Windows? users and turn them into Mac fans. So far the strategy has been a good effort but only time will tell if it will convince loyal Window?s to give Mac?s another go-around. PERFORMANCE: The major improvement in the new iMac is performance. The new system is for the same price as previous systems but the performance has been enhanced with a new Intel 2.8GHz processor system performance has been increased. Also updated is the RAM which is now at 3GB and the option for a better graphics card. CONCLUSION: For dedicated Mac fans this will be a must upgrade but if you?re considering switching to a Mac it is wise to take note that the new iMac?s are considerably higher in price than their Window?s counterpart. But to sum it up the new iMac?s are a solid hit. Get A Great Deal on an Apple Imac - Shop eBay Today!

The long and short to this question is yes and no. Confused yet? The yes part of the answer comes from the fact that any computer can get a virus; the no part comes from the fact that it is much more difficult for Macs to contract a virus. There are many reasons for this discrepancy. To begin with, the new Apple operating systems, like Mac OS X are built based on the UNIX kernel, which has been around the longest, and is the safest operating system available. UNIX is an operating system that was developed in the 1960s by Bell Labs, and believe it or not, was used to play a game called Space Travel after being booted off of the creator?s regular systems. A kernel is another word for operating system; it is technically the first piece to load into memory during a startup. It is usually responsible for things like managing disk drives and handling memory. The next reason very few Apple users get viruses is basically because when compared to Windows users, there just aren?t that many of them out there. If someone is out to write a damaging computer virus, they want to write one that is going to impact the largest amount of users, and those users are not Apple users. It is estimated that somewhere around 400 million people use the Windows operating system, while Mac users are somewhere in the ballpark of 25 million. To break this down even further, of that 400 million, over 80% of them are home users, the rest use the system for businesses or other uses. On the other hand, for Mac users, nearly 90% of them use their Mac for business use. Movie producers, sound engineers, and graphic artists are some of Mac?s demographic users. Students and recreational users make up a large part of Windows? demographics. Along the same lines, more virus authors are familiar with the Windows operating system, enabling them to develop viruses for that system easier and more quickly. There is no need to learn a complicated new system and develop a virus around it, even if it will gain you 25 million more victims; it is just too much work. Many of the tools used and scripts written that help virus writers create their mayhem are designed specifically for Windows, so half of the work is already done for them. It is good to note that those individuals that own a Mac and run the Windows operating system on it as a cross platform machine are vulnerable to Windows viruses, and those systems should be protected with antivirus software, even though they are not factory-genuine Windows models. For now, Mac users are safer from viruses than Windows users are; many Mac users don?t even have antivirus protection on their computers. Who is to say that in the future they will not be just as vulnerable as Windows users, but for now, they seem to have the antivirus upper hand.
